泉州市位于中国福建省东南沿海，与台湾隔海相望。现辖鲤城区、丰泽区、洛江区、泉港区、晋江市、石狮市、南安市、惠安县、安溪县、永春县、德化县、金门县（待统一）和清濛经济开发区。全市面积11,平方公里，人口万，绝大多数为汉族，其余为回、蒙、苗等41个少数民族，约9万多人。居民通行普通话和闽南方言。
